For the CT Tech

When considering becoming a CT technician, you'll have an exciting and meaningful job waiting for you. These jobs are needed at hospitals, clinics, and labs, to help take proper care of patients and are very important. To begin your career as a CT tech, you'll need an associate's degree in radiography, nuclear medicine technology, or radiation therapy. You'll want to look for a program that's accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). 

After completing your associate's degree, you'll need to pass the certification exam. Once you do, you'll be registered with the ARRT and can perform CT scans. You can pursue a bachelor's degree in the same field if you choose, but it's not necessary all the time. Some employees may prefer a bachelor's, but you can still find gainful employment with an associate's degree.

As you progress through your career, you can strive to pursue higher education if you choose. You can study and obtain a master's or doctorate degree in radiology if you choose.
